 Breaking News - Jerry Rice Signs Multi-Year Agreement

Since 2008, Jerry Rice has served as one of the Foundation’s leading spokespersons, advocating chiropractic nationwide. After a well reciprocated survey and an analysis of performance, the Foundation is excited to announce Jerry Rice has decided to sign with the Foundation for an additional three years. Please look to upcoming newsletters for more details regarding Rice’s recommitment to chiropractic!

 Foundation Supporters Listed in Chiropractic Publications

If you are presently a monthly contributor to the Foundation, your name will appear in a Foundation appreciation ad, to be featured in the October issue of Chiropractic Economics and the December issue of Dynamic Chiropractic. If you are not currently a contributor and you wish to have your name appear, the deadline for contribution submission is October 14.  Newsletter for Legislators

The Foundation has completed the first issue of its educational state association newsletter that incorporates press releases, research and basic facts about chiropractic. This newsletter will be offered to association supporters eight times annually, and will provide a vehicle for associations to communicate with their legislators on a regular basis with positive messages regarding the profession.  Jerry Rice to Participate in Media Interviews

On October 11, 2011, NFL great, Jerry Rice, will participate in a series of radio and newspaper interviews arranged by the Foundation. As of now, we have confirmed the following radio stations and publications:

 General Halstead's Speaking and Media Opportunities

Over the next couple of months General Becky Halstead will be appearing at various chiropractic events promoting the Foundation as well as interacting with media personnel. Her current schedule is as follows:

November 11 is Veterans Day and will provide an added opportunity for media appearances by the General

 Preparing for the Thayer Dedication

As most already know, General Halstead will be honored at the Thayer Hotel at West Point on Wednesday, November 4. The reception is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with the dedication ceremony following at 7:00 p.m. Foundation supporters are encouraged to participate in this historic event. Halstead will join a distinguished roster of military heroes who will also be honored with rooms bearing their names, including: General Douglas MacArthur, General Barry McCaffery and General Martin E. Dempsey.

Prior to the event, the Foundation has arranged a two-hour tour of West Point. There will be a minimum charge for this tour. Anyone interested in participating can contact Gary Cuneo at: 703.868.2420.

 White Paper Communicated to the Employer/Healthcare Communities

Available to monthly contributors only, the F4CP has developed a new 13-minute video specifically intended for patient reception rooms or lay lectures. This video incorporates several of the F4CP's public service announcements along with interview clips of General Halstead sharing her personal experience and support for chiropractic. This video is featured on the Foundation’s website, www.f4cp.com, for those interested in viewing. In addition, downloading the file will also be permitted with utilization of a special password.  New Foundation Ad in Wall Street Journal

The Foundation's ad highlighting the cost-effectiveness of chiropractic in the treatment of sciatica has appeared in the September 21 issue of the Wall Street Journal. Click here to view the ad. The Foundation also strongly encourages you to keep a copy within your reception room.

 Power of Press

Be sure you are taking full advantage of the Foundation's materials! As a reminder, Renee Haberl, president, Arizona Chiropractic Association used one of the Foundation's press releases with a physician college in her office building and within one week she received five referrals from the medical doctor.  F4CP Responds to Reader's Digest

The recent issue of Reader's Digest included an article on alternative healthcare with several critical and inaccurate comments regarding chiropractic manipulation and its affiliation with strokes.  Jason Deitch: Social Marketing Advisor

The Foundation has recently appointed Dr. Jason Deitch as its Social Marketing Advisor. With years of experience in chiropractic and social media, Deitch's expertise will help to successfully introduce the Foundation to the world of social media.

One project already accomplished with the help of Deitch is the Foundation’s two Facebook fan pages. Both pages offer a number of special features, including interactive videos, free e-gifts, up-to-date postings regarding chiropractic and easy-to-use donation components.  Foundation Attends Well-Known Business Conference

This past month, the Foundation attended and exhibited at the CDHC Solution Form West in Denver, Colorado. This well attended conference of health and employee groups provided another opportunity for the Foundation to showcase our sponsored studies validating the clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness of chiropractic to this community. For this particular conference, we sponsored Dr. Niteesh Choudhry, medical researcher from Harvard who co-authored the Milstein study and helped in the development of our white paper entitled, “The Value-Based Approach for Optimal Health with Chiropractic Services.” He presented this white paper during a workshop featured at the CDHC conference. At the end of his program three attending company representatives expressed interest in conducting a pilot program with the inclusion of chiropractic at their facilities. The Foundation will be exploring the opportunities presented and will provide more details in newsletters to follow.

 White Paper Communicated to the Employer/Healthcare Communities

The Foundation will continue to progress with its major distribution push of its newly released white paper, “The Role of Chiropractic Care in the Patient-Centered Medical Home” to mediums within the employer/healthcare communities.

During the NBCH Forum, the Foundation will also be exhibiting and both Dr. Gerard Clum, a contributor to the paper, and Dr. Bill Updyke, who works for a Fortune 100 company in Silicon Valley, Ca. with one of the largest U.S. on-site health care clinics, will be in attendance.

     Foundation National Ad Placement Schedule for 2011

    The Foundation continues to place ads in major publications throughout the country. Here is a list of placements since June and the current plan moving forward. We are still finalizing the ad placements for Jerry Rice where we want to take advantage of the football season.

    Week of September 5 - A half page ad will appear in the Wall Street Journal featuring the new Foundation Ad on cost-effectiveness. This will be placed right before our participation at the CDHC West Forum scheduled for September 15-16 in Denver, Colorado. We will be exhibiting and sponsoring Dr Niteesh Choudhry as a speaker.

    Week of November 1 - A half page ad will appear in the Wall Street Journal featuring the Foundation's newest ad on Medical Home Model. This will be placed right before our participation at the National Business Coalition on Health Conference scheduled for November 7-9 in Phoenix, Arizona. We will be exhibiting and sponsoring Guy D’ Andrea, author of the Foundation’s white paper on the chiropractic role in Medical Home Model.

    Week of November 7 - A half page ad will appear in the Wall Street Journal featuring a Foundation ad regarding workers comp and cost-effectiveness. This ad will be placed prior to the week of our participation at the AHIP Conference, November 14-16 in Chicago, IL. We will be exhibiting and sponsoring Bruce Sherman, MD, FCCP, FACOEM, Corporate Medical Director, Whirlpool Corporation and co-author of the Foundation’s white paper on the value of chiropractic care in value-based design.

    In addition to those ads mention above the Foundation’s ad featuring Jerry Rice will appear in a November issue of USA Today and the December issue of Sports Illustrated!

     Recent Press Releases Distributed

    The Foundation has released two new press releases within the past month and will be distributing several more before the end of October.

    The first release announces the launch of the Foundation's two enhanced Facebook fan pages. This release details the remarkable features and opportunities for growth presented through the success of these pages. To read this release in its entirety, click here.

    The second announces the debut of the Foundation’s charitable foundation, The Foundation for Chiropractic Education. This release also highlights the annual nationwide campaign each October initiated by the American Chiropractic Association of National Chiropractic Health Month.      Foundation Leadership Recognized

    Two Foundation leaders were recognized this past month by national organizations because of their extended contributions to the chiropractic profession:

    Kent S. Greenawalt, president and founder, F4CP and president, Foot Levers, was recognized an Honorary Fellow in the International College of Chiropractic (FICC) which was formed in 1938. The Fellow designation is bestowed upon those who have made a significant impact on the science, philosophy and art of chiropractic. Kent's father, the late Monte Greenawalt DC, was also a Fellow.

    Charlie Dubois, president, Standard Process, recognized "Humanitarian of the Year" by the American Chiropractic Association. This award is given annually to the consumer who has largely contributed to the public and chiropractic profession.
