Thank You, Parker University

Every year the Foundation has a presence at Parker Seminars in Vegas, and every year Drs. Mancini and Lamarche are gracious with providing opportunities to promote its activities. This year was no different – Parker went above-and-beyond. Not only did they provide complimentary booth space for the Foundation and its corporate partner, Dillard's, but they also provided complimentary program time for our co-sponsored fashion show and guest spokespeople, Terry Schroeder, DC, Mark Losack, DC and General Becky Halstead.

As always, the event turned out to be a success and it would not have been possible without the support of Parker University – THANK YOU!

Media at Parker Seminars

At every event where the F4CP has a spokesperson present, we contact the media to encourage an interview. Parker was no exception, and with the co-sponsorship of Dillard's and the attendance of General Becky Halstead, there was considerable media interest.

Award-winning columnist, Sandy Zimmerman, who is syndicated with 1,000 newspapers and magazines around the world and well-known in the entertainment industry, was intrigued by the partnership of fashion and chiropractic (Dillard's and the F4CP). After attending the event and interviewing several Foundation representatives, including Dr. Carol Ann Malizia, Kent Greenawalt and General Becky Halstead, as well as Denise Ames and Patricia Alvillar with Dillard's, she has committed to pursuing two feature articles and a radio segment. Once article and segment links are received, they will appear on the F4CP site.

In addition, we were also visited by representatives from CBS and Fox that conducted interviews with General Halstead. Here is a link to three segments that were featured on the news stations - View Here.

Foundation Newspaper Coverage (12 Month Program)

Beginning this month, as part of the F4CP public awareness campaign, two ads will be featured monthly in USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

The following ads will appear in February:

1. Week of February 13th, The Wall Street Journal will feature the F4CP ad that compares the costs of surgery vs. chiropractic care for low back conditions. The timing of ad will coincide with our attendance at the National Business Coalition on Health meeting in San Francisco, Ca.

2. Week of February 16th, USA Today will run the F4CP's new champion ad that features General Becky Halstead and her treating doctor, Carol Ann Malizia. The timing of the ad will coincide with the annual National Chiropractic Legislative Conference and the lobbying that will be accomplished by hundreds of DC's and students regarding pending legislation in Congress.

Over the next 12 months, the F4CP ads will focus on presenting a celebrity and/or everyday patient with their treating DC.

Public Service Announcements

In 2012, the F4CP will be producing six new TV public service announcements that will be distributed to over 1,000 stations nationwide. Additionally, it will produce four new radio public service announcements that will be distributed to over 6,500 stations nationwide.

Press Releases to National Media

Four days prior to Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, the F4CP distributed a press release via Business Wire to over 10,000 newspapers nationwide, highlighting the role of chiropractic. The press release features quotes by both team DCs. To read the release in its entirety, Click Here.

Other releases distributed this month include two recognizing the exceptional support of certain vendors and state associations, and another highlighting the role of chiropractic care within elite-level sporting games, including the Pan American Games. New Documentary

As mentioned in earlier newsletters, prominent Hollywood producer, Jeff Hayes, whose film "On Native Soil" was short-listed for an Academy Award in 2006, has decided to produce a documentary on the abuses of the medical and drug cartel specifically against the chiropractic profession. Over the last few weeks, he has interviewed most of the leadership in the profession as well as patients, consumers and celebrities. A trailer of the film was shown at Parker and received a rousing standing ovation by the approximate 4,000 in the audience. To watch the preview, Click Here.

New Student Leadership

Ryan Engelhardt from Life University and Ryan Iskenderian from Southern California University of Health Sciences have recently taken on the roles of co-chair for the National F4CP student organization. Robert Weiss from Palmer Davenport, Ia., is the third member of the leadership team.

Special thanks to F4CP's former student leaders, Trish Triemert (Life U), Beth Wisniewski (Palmer W), and Abby Krouse (Palmer I). Your proven commitment to the profession and the Foundation's positive press campaign was appreciated and a good indicator of your future success in practice.

Medical Home Model: Tool Kit and Webinars

As mentioned in earlier newsletters, the F4CP had been developing a tool kit to provide doctors of chiropractic with guidance regarding involvement in medical homes. This tool kit has reached its final stage, and is expected to be released within the next two weeks. Upon completion, the tool kit will be posted on the F4CP website under its "Industry News" tab.

Relative to the release of the tool kit, the Foundation will be hosting two webinars, the first on the Patient-Centered Medical Home. Similar to its fall program, several presenters will participate and provide listeners with exclusive educational tips about the new form of healthcare delivery. Following the 45 minute session, 15 minutes will remain for Q&A. This webinar is tentatively scheduled for February 28, 2012 at 1pm EST. Please look for an F4CP email containing registration information soon.

Following this program, the F4CP will host a webinar on its tool kit. This program will provide a detailed explanation of the guide as well as insider tips on successfully pursuing PCMH integration. This webinar is tentatively scheduled for March 13, 2012 at 1pm EST. Please look to March's newsletter and special F4CP emails for registration information.

Future webinars are being scheduled with Dr. Ted Carrick on his important work at Life University and Dr. Rob DeStefano, with the New York Giants.

The continued growth of the Foundation is dependent upon more doctors getting involved. All of the monthly contributors can be found at the website - Click Here. Encourage your list of contacts to join you in support of the profession's successful positive press campaign. Forward this newsletter to them. This campaign is making a difference by informing patients everywhere about the value in chiropractic care!!
