Physical Therapists Storm the Capital -- Support F4CP Campaign

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) members, including students, visited Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to promote physical therapy (PT) as the alternative to opioids. It is understood they have committed significant dollars to promote this position nationally.

Please see link regarding their ongoing campaign efforts:

The Foundation needs 5,000 doctors of chiropractic to contribute $200 each to counter what we know is being promoted by the physical therapists and other health care professions. We can’t lose this campaign to the PTs and others.

Please support the efforts of ‘Save Lives. Stop Opioid Abuse. Choose Chiropractic.’ *Make your contribution to help market the profession today:

*All donations are earmarked to our campaign to promote chiropractic as an alternative to opioids and is separate from our regular positive press campaign.

  • Concussion Recognition and Prevention
  • Nutrition in Sports Management

Corporate Spotlight of the Month: ChiroSecure

Much of the F4CP's success can be attributed to its contributors. This month, we recognize ChiroSecure for its ongoing support to the F4CP.

In 2017, ChiroSecure donated $10,000 to the F4CP, which will help to facilitate new campaign materials that aim to bring public attention to the conservative approach and health benefits of chiropractic care.

ChiroSecure bridges the gap between malpractice insurance and technology. Offering liability insurance to the chiropractic profession at an affordable rate, and supporting chiropractic research around the globe.

When asked, why ChiroSecure supports the Foundation - this was Dr. Stu Hoffman’s response:

“ChiroSecure, being dedicated to supporting the chiropractic profession for over 26 years, we look for those organizations we feel do the most to educate the public about chiropractic care and no one does it more positively than the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress.

The F4CP encourages individuals, doctors and associations to support organizations that support the profession. To view a list of current F4CP corporate supporters, visit:

Doctor Spotlight of the Month: Dr. Justin Goehl

This month, the F4CP spotlights Justin Goehl, DC, MS, for the continued support he has shown the F4CP and chiropractic profession.

Since 2014, Dr. Justin Goehl has been an annual donor of the Foundation.

Dr. Goehl’s background includes a Masters in Sports Science and Rehab, corporate personal training, private practice experience and a year-long chiropractic residency at VA Greater Los Angeles.

Dr. Goehl is currently establishing a primary spine care clinic at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and is embedded in a collaborative, primary care team that includes MDs, DOs, PAs, APRNs, RNs and MAs. The focus of his role is primarily clinical in nature, with a research component that investigates the primary spine care model versus that of traditional spine care.

When we asked Dr. Goehl to describe working in an integrative care setting and his role as a DC, this was his response:

I view working in an integrative setting as an example of working at the highest level of one’s degree managing and co-managing a very complex patient population that often is receiving care for many other conditions from a variety of providers. My focus is obviously spine related disorders and in my current role I work on both a referral and portal of entry basis with patients.

As a DC I am able to provide a conservative non-pharmaceutical care option for patients for their spine-related complaints, which given the increased focus on opioids and other high risk drugs makes for a great alternative for patients and valuable resource for providers

The Dr. Bob Martin Show Interviews Dr. Arlan Fuhr On Air

Dr. Arlan Fuhr, Founder and Chairman of Activator International, co-inventor of the Activator Adjusting Instrument and the Activator Method Chiropractic Technique and active Board Member of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, was a special guest on "The Dr. Bob Martin Show." With over 400 cities listening in, it is the largest syndicated alternative health show in the U.S. The topic of Dr. Fuhr's radio interview was opioid painkillers.

When asked, "Are patients receiving chiropractic care less likely to use opioid drug killers in your opinion?” Dr. Fuhr responded:

“Well, It’s not an opinion. As you know me for a long time, I go by the data. Southern California University of Health Sciences, one of their researchers Dr. Jim Whedon finished a poster and presented at the National Press Conference in Washington, DC. The bottom line on the whole research project was that if you are going to a chiropractor, you are 55 percent less likely to use an opioid.

To continue on, here, right on target with making this known to the public, at the National Press Conference - I am a board member of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress. In that press conference, Dr. Marc Siegel, who is from the FOX Medical A-Team, he’s an internist and he got up basically said what you are saying. We have to talk about this because we have to hold people responsible that are irresponsible."
