Congress Receives Copies of Doctored

doctorThe Chiropractic Summit sponsored the distribution of the movie of Doctored to each member of Congress. Copies were provided complimentary by the F4CP and delivered to Congress the week of June 10th.

This initiative was prompted by the feedback of Senator Orrin Hatch, who viewed the movie earlier in the year and thought it was terrific and deserved to be watched by other members of Congress.

F4CP Debuts New Series: "Wall of Fame"

In the latest issue of Chiropractic Economics, the new F4CP "Wall of Fame" insert series is featured. The series, which includes four inserts, is designed for doctors to frame in their office. Significant VA Legislation May Pass

Unless you have worked in Washington D.C., it will be hard for you to completely understand the level of difficulty to pass legislation through Congress. In order to be successful, one needs to pursue an amendment through an existing legislative vehicle. This is the case in an amendment currently being proposed by the chiropractic profession that would phrase in the presence of chiropractic doctors in each of the VA facilities nationwide. The proposal has merit and seems to have gained momentum for passage. Please find details provided by the Chiropractic Summit on this legislation below.

Chiropractic Summit: SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE ALERT BULLETIN
Ensure that our nation's veterans have unimpeded access to chiropractic.

Background: With the recent U.S. Senate Veterans Affairs Committee hearing on S. 422, the committee is poised to soon consider this legislation which directs the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to expand the number of sites where the services provided by a Doctor of Chiropractic are available. S. 422, the Chiropractic Care Available to All Veterans Act introduced by Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), mirrors House legislation in calling for the VA to phase in the essential services provided by doctors of chiropractic to all major VA medical facilities over the next several years. Why is this important? VA data (Analysis of VA Health Care Utilization Among Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) Veterans) cite "diseases of Musculoskeletal System/Connective System," as the number one ailment of Iraq/Afghanistan veterans accessing VA treatment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Contact your Senators via ACA's ChiroVoice Legislative Action Center or the ICA's Adjust the Vote network and urge them to cosponsor S. 422. The more cosponsors we get on S. 422, the greater the likelihood of its success.

Below are current (June 6, 2013) cosponsors of S. 422. These Senators do not need to be contacted.

Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK)

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH)

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA)

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA)

Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS)

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT)

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY)

Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT)

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

ACT NOW! A couple mouse clicks of your time is all that is needed to ensure that our brave men and women who have served have the access to the services of a Doctor of Chiropractic; services they need and deserve. Thank you!

Honor Your Loved Ones Today

Featured on the F4CP website, the "In Memory Of…" section honors those individuals in the chiropractic family who have passed on, and who would be very pleased with the progress the profession has achieved, as well as the role the F4CP has played in generating positive press. In order to be honored, contributions are made on the individual's behalf in support of ongoing progress. Also known as a legacy contribution, the F4CP requires a minimum donation of $120 for online recognition.

To view all of those honored, visit: http://www.f4cp.com/in-memory-of.php.

F4CP Works with ACC & NBCE to Develop New Ads

As announced recently, the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) has made a contribution to the F4CP with the request that it be used to help the ACC & NBCE in their efforts to encourage enrollment in chiropractic colleges. The F4CP is working with the ACC and its consultant from Widmeyer Communications, to develop new F4CP ads that will be included in The Wall Street Journal and USA Today placement schedule. Widmeyer Communications was first hired by ACC to initiate a comprehensive PR campaign that encourages enrollment in chiropractic colleges.

Champions of Chiropractic – Submit a Celebrity Today

The F4CP has come a long way since its first ad featuring Sarah Harding, the 2006 Ms. Fitness USA. Sarah Harding was, at the time, a perfect spokesperson for the F4CP. She was articulate and knew the benefits of chiropractic care first-hand…unfortunately, she was not very well-known.

Today, the F4CP has over 30 celebrity supporters that speak out about the value of chiropractic. The list of celebrities includes NFL greats, Jerry Rice and Aaron Rodgers; Mike Love, lead singer of the Beach Boys; General Becky Halstead; and super model, Carol Alt, to name a few. All of the F4CP celebrity supporters have participated in an F4CP champion ad, which appears twice a month in USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. One important aspect of the champion ads is that it includes the celebrity's treating doctor – allowing the public to put a face to the profession.

NEW CELEBRITIES NEEDED: The F4CP is in search of the nation's most dynamic celebrities and their chiropractors to join its campaign and help increase chiropractic awareness nationwide. Please submit your nominations to Lauren Kennedy at: lkennedy@cpronline.com.

Selected individuals will have the opportunity to be honored at a major upcoming function, as well as featured in an awareness series that includes: national ads, social media and a press release. Participation in a TV PSA will also be considered.

Thank you for your support, the F4CP looks forward to your submissions.
