The Roll Call ad – which was a full-page back cover – caught the attention of all chiropractic leadership present at the 2013 Chiropractic Summit and remained a high point in conversation throughout the weekend. As for the ads in The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, they caught the attention of Congressman Bill Enyart, who during his presentation at NCLC, referenced the ongoing ads and urged the profession to continue them.

Guess What F4CP Ads Will Appear in April

In April, the F4CP will continue its aggressive ad schedule, placing two ads in both The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. Below is a list of F4CP ads and desired run dates for April:

  • April 1st - The Wall Street Journal (Basketball)
  • April 8th - USA Today (Drs. Kinder/Carrick)
  • April 15th - USA Today (Baseball)
  • April 22nd - The Wall Street Journal (Drs. Kinder/Carrick)




Dillard's Department Stores Contributes Again

As indicated in previous e-newsletters, on February 16th, Dillard's southwest district – which includes over 40 stores in eight states - hosted a day in support of the F4CP and chiropractic. On this day, 10 percent of all sales from participating shoe vendors were earmarked for the F4CP.

The F4CP received a donation from Dillard's in the amount of $5,650!!

The F4CP has partnered with Dillard's in the past - during events, such as Parker Seminars 2012 – and has established a good relationship. In the near future, the F4CP plans to visit the Dillard’s southwest headquarters in Phoenix, Az. to discuss future national opportunities.

General Halstead a STAR in Nebraska – Both Media and the Association Respond

At any event where General Halstead presents on behalf of the F4CP, she not only impresses the chiropractic attendees but also engages and impresses the local media. The General's recent presence at the Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) spring convention in Omaha, Neb. was no different.

General Halstead was interviewed by KOIL-AM, a local radio station, which aired a brief segment discussing her military background, the event and her chiropractic experience.

She was also interviewed by the Omaha World-Herald, which resulted in some of the best coverage ever generated by the F4CP. The F4CP and General Halstead are still receiving follow up questions related to chiropractic care from the readers. To give you a sneak preview, read the first line published:

That's not all; great media coverage was only the beginning. The General's presentations to the doctors, CAs and attendees at the Doctored showing were all well-received. To add to the meeting’s success, several new contributors were gained and the NCPA announced that it would be donating $10,000 in support of the campaign. Thank you, NCPA!!

Well-Known Rutgers University Professor Reviews F4CP Media Impressions

As you know, the F4CP has proudly announced that it generated over 31 billion media impressions in 2012. Provided within the 2012 F4CP PR Report are details regarding exact coverage and the formula used for tracking purposes.

The F4CP is now taking its coverage results one step further. The F4CP has retained the services of Professor Michael Katehakis, department chair and professor of Management Science & Information Systems at Rutgers Business School, to analyze its data. Professor Katehakis will be able to identify the specific areas in the country where F4CP promotion has penetrated most and the exact demographics of the exposed audience.

This information will allow the F4CP to better understand where and with what audience its placements are most efficient - and adjust advertising if needed. Additionally, it will provide the F4CP with ammunition for meetings with corporations regarding sponsorship – who are very interested in a comprehensive report regarding reach.

A New Corporate Partner - The American Chiropractor

The American Chiropractor has joined its media competitors - Chiropractic Economics and Dynamic Chiropractic - as a financial contributor to the F4CP. Jaclyn Busch Touzard, publisher for The American Chiropractor, announced the publication's pledge to F4CP chairman, Kent Greenawalt, at the recent RAC meeting in Washington, D.C. In addition to the monetary support, the publication will also continue to provide the F4CP with complimentary ads – similar to both Chiropractic Economics and Dynamic Chiropractic.

The F4CP greatly appreciates the new support of The American Chiropractor and looks forward to raising awareness of the campaign and chiropractic in and outside of the profession.

F4CP Appoints State Emissaries

In order to better communicate its campaign nationwide, the F4CP has decided to appoint emissaries in each of the 50 states. The representatives will serve as the eyes, ears and voice of the F4CP with the local state associations and doctors.

F4CP Rolls Out its "Chiropractic First" Campaign

The F4CP has just issued its first advertorial and social syndication related to its "Chiropractic First" theme. Please read the news release below:

URAC Pilot Program Progresses

The URAC pilot program - which was initiated in October 2012 - is making significant progress. In total, 22 chiropractic practices are participating. As of now, 15 of the 22 practices have already undergone their on-site review. The F4CP has heard very positive feedback from participating doctors and URAC representatives regarding the reviews.

URAC expects all on-site reviews to reach completion by May 31st. Following that, URAC will take time to review the reports and announce the results of the program. The results should be delivered prior to July 16, 2013.

By attaining URAC recognition – which is nationally accepted by the healthcare community - doctors will increase their opportunity to participate in the Patient Centered Health Care Home (PCHCH) setting. The PCHCH provides comprehensive and individualized access to physical health, behavioral health, and supportive community and social services, ensuring patients receive the right care in the right setting at the right time.

General Halstead Responds to CNN

In recent times, CNN has taken a strong focus on the abuses of healthcare related to medicine and big pharma. A week ago, CNN aired "Escape Fire," the new documentary that exposes the ills of America's healthcare system. The film featured a clip of a veteran who discusses the many pills he was prescribed by a V.A. doctor that provided him with no real relief to his condition. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, nowhere in the program did chiropractic come up as an option.

In response to the lack of chiropractic inclusion, the F4CP asked General Halstead to write a letter to the healthcare journalist describing her very similar experience and the benefits chiropractic offered. General Halstead will be following up with the journalist, as will the F4CP.

New York Chiropractic College Drives F4CP Membership

New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) featured a full-page ad touting the importance of the F4CP and distribution of the movie Doctored in its latest publication. The special ad included a letter, signed by NYCC President Frank Nicchi, which encouraged F4CP membership and offered a complimentary copy of Doctored. See below for a copy of the NYCC ad.

April Spotlight: Champion Ads

DID YOU KNOW that the F4CP has a collection of ads that feature "Champions of Chiropractic?" These ads, shown below, include dozens of celebrity athletes, entertainers and wellness experts, and appear monthly in The Wall Street Journal and USA Today as well as weekly on the F4CP Facebook. The newest F4CP champion ads feature: Las Vegas police officer, Cindy Smith, and Barbara Kinder, MD, professor emeritus of surgery at Yale University.

All F4CP champion ads have been very successful in engaging the public due to the high-profile individuals featured and unique stories shared. These ads are available to monthly contributors in the form of a poster for in-office promotion.
