About the FoundationMission:To increase the public awareness of the benefits of chiropractic. The Chiropractic profession has been practiced for well over a century, helping millions of people around the world with injury care, chronic pain, and other health related conditions. In order to address the health care challenges of the new century a group of individuals formed the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress in November 2003. A nonprofit corporation, The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (FCP) aims to increase the number of people who seek Chiropractic treatment on a regular basis. FCP seeks to educate consumers about this conservative, effective form of treatment. Foundation Officers: A working staff and management team has been put into place by the Foundation
for Chiropractic Progress (FCP) to oversee the development and implementation
of the Campaign for Chiropractic.
The Board will oversee a five-year multi-million dollar marketing campaign aimed at increasing consumer awareness and building greater market share for Chiropractic services. This unified campaign represents all of Chiropractic. It is being funded by national, state and local chiropractic associations, colleges, leading chiropractic publications, vendors serving the profession, as well as individual chiropractors. Campaign ThemeAccording to recent estimates the Chiropractic profession cares for only 8% of the general public. FCP hopes to create a credible and focused message, which is necessary to capture a larger share of the market. A multi-media year program is in motion that offers both national media exposure as well as local promotional support. FCP has initiated an aggressive advertising and public relations campaign in major publications to inform, educate and stimulate the market. The primary objective is to increase market share in every Doctor of Chiropractic's office over the next decade by increasing Chiropractic exposure to the public incrementally each year as the Foundation gains participation by a wide variety of DCs. The campaign consists of two phases. The first, focused on research, has already been completed. The second phase that began in July 2006 includes the advertising in prominent publications throughout the country with testimonials from chiropractic patients that will convince customers to rethink established perceptions of Chiropractic.
